Fostering Hope has been developed to promote excellence in parent and child foster care, recognising this as a specialised role needing additional training, skills and support. These resources have been developed from the ideas and experiences of parents, parent-and-child foster carers and social workers.

About Fostering Hope
Informed by the experiences of foster carers, Fostering Hope is designed to be a forum for up-to-date information, practical tips, and ideas, providing links to other useful resources and organisations.
Alongside this website, the Fostering Hope closed Facebook group — run by Alison Dawson, a former educator and experienced parent-and-child foster carer — offers a space for foster carers to meet, encourage, and support each other.
Nine specialist areas covering everything from getting a placement started to supporting parents through complex needs — all informed by real foster carers’ experience.
